The applications for AXA Research Fund 2012 (recruitment of doctoral students) is now open.
PhD Application Guidelines
Only institutions may apply for these fellowships. No individual student applications will be accepted or reviewed.
Please note that each candidate cannot submit the same proposal several times. An applicant can be presented by only one institution.
Areas of research eligible for funding
The Ph.D. work financed by the Fund must fall within the scope of one of the themes identified by the AXA Scientific Board.
The themes for 2012 are identified below, and can also be found on the website of the AXA Research Fund: http://researchfund.axa.com/en/

o Aging and long term care
o Biomedical risk
o Addictions and risky behaviours
Socio Economic Risks
o Geopoliticalrisks
o Macro-economic and systemic financial risks
o Individual and collective behaviours when facing uncertainties
o Large corporate risks
Environmental risks
o Climatechange
o Natural hazards
o Human driven environmental changes
The complex selection procedure for these fellowships proceeds through the laboratories, doctoral school and their parent institutions, whereby participating Universities are allotted 2 (two) possible candidates each ! Each institution organizes it's own pre-selection of candidates among all it's doctoral schools.
How to apply :
Applications must be submitted by the research institutions to which the host laboratory is attached and where the Ph.D. work is to be carried out.
Each institution may only select two applications maximum.
The application must be submitted by the Doctoral school to the University. Each doctoral School can submit only one application. If there are two excellent candidates, the doctoral school may submit two applications, in which case they will have to be ranked.
We are now at the opening of the candidatures for the candidature (!) for Paris DIDEROT University. Due to renewal of Paris Diderot councils the application deadline for projects in a lab of this University are very early. If you are interested and if your potential lab for a PhD is associated with Paris Diderot University you are invited to apply to your doctoral school of predilection by January 19th.Doctoral schools will rank their candidates and defend them for the University selection.
